Rosemarie Nelson has experience in information systems, as a medical office manager, and as a consultant to physicians. As a healthcare consultant with the Medical Group Management Association, Nelson regularly conducts educational seminars on a variety of healthcare technology and operational topics. Nelson has also authored numerous articles and helped create new informatics products for physician practices in the Office of the Future consortium. Previously, she was vice president of business development for Health Care Data Systems. She holds an MS degree in health services administration from New School University in New York. As an independent health care consultant affiliated with the Medical Group Management Association, Ms. Nelson regularly conducts educational seminars for MGMA audiences on a variety of health care technology and operational topics. She has also presented on technology at specialty assemblies; insurance, hospital, and medical assistant conferences, and at HIMSS, the nation's premier healthcare technology conference. Ms. Nelson has also authored numerous articles on practice management and technology issues for such publications as Medical Economics, Hospitals & Health Networks, Healthcare Financial Management, and the MGMA Journal. From 1999 to 2001, Ms. Nelson also held sales and marketing posts with Welch Allyn, a medical device manufacturer, helping to create and market new informatics products for physician practices. Previously, she was Vice President of Business Development for Health Care Data Systems, a medical software development company. She holds a BS in business administration from Syracuse University and an MS in health services administration from New School University in New York.
