Biography

Charles B. Nemeroff, MD, PhD is Professor of Psychiatry at the Dell Medical School, University of Texas in Austin. He received his MD and PhD degrees from the University of North Carolina and residency training there and at Duke University. After serving on the faculty at Duke University, he served as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Emory University and at the University of Miami before relocating this year to the University of Texas. He has published more than 1,000 peer reviewed reports and is co-editor in chief of the Textbook of Psychopharmacology. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. His research is supported by the National Institutes of Health. He has been the recipient of numerous award and has served as president of the American College of Psychiatrists and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
