Biography
JoNel Newman, received her BA from the University of Missouri and her J.D. from Yale University, where she was senior editor of the Yale law Journal. Upon graduation, she clerked for Judge R. Lanier Anderson of the U.S. Court of appeals for the eleventh Circuit and has practiced law in a variety of settings, acting as lead counsel in numerous civil rights, law reform, class action, immigration, and prisoner litigation cases and at Florida legal Services, where she was responsible for providing litigation support to legal services organizations throughout Florida and for the litigation of Migrant Farmworker Justice Project cases. Professor Newman teaches Civil Procedure, teaches professional responsibility and directs the health and Elder Law Clinic.
