Biography
Current Role: Kim joined ViiV in June, 2018 as a Medical Science Liaison covering the region of South-Central Texas, including Houston, Austin, San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Her responsibilities include meeting the scientific needs of external experts and other healthcare professionals, providing clinical development support to investigators conducting clinical trials, and providing regional scientific support for the ViiV sales organization. She also is a scientific speaker for non-independent, ViiV-sponsored programs for healthcare professionals and for Pharmacy and Therapeutics and formulary committees. Experience: Kim came to ViiV after completing her HIV Specialty Pharmacy Practice Residency at KC CARE Health Center (formerly Kansas City Care Clinic), a federally-qualified heath center dedicated to providing quality care, access, research and education to the underserved and all people in the Kansas City community. In her role as a resident, she provided comprehensive pharmaceutical care for the management of HIV, HIV pre/post-exposure prophylaxis, sexually transmitted infections, hepatitis C, hormone replacement therapy, transgender health, and metabolic disorders. During her post-graduate training, Kim also served as a Midwest AIDS Training + Education Center (MATEC) HIV Clinician Scholar, broadening her knowledge and practice with 12 months of in-depth HIV training and preceptorship. She also held an appointment as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Advanced Pathophysiology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Pharmacy, where she lectured and was a preceptor for 3rd and 4th year pharmacy students. Additionally, she was a mentor in the STAHR Scholars Pharmacy Program (Students in Training, in Academia, Health, and Research), which operates to cultivate culturally diverse candidates and candidates from underserved areas who are applying to the UMKC School of Pharmacy. Education: Prior to receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2018 from UMKC School of Pharmacy, Kim completed a dual undergraduate degree with a BS in Chemistry and BA in Communication Studies. Kim is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration degree program at the UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management.
