Biography

Dr. Oldham is an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan, where he leads translational interstitial lung disease research. He attended medical school at the University of Colorado and then trained in Internal Medicine at UC-Davis, where he also served as Chief Resident. Following residency, Dr. Oldham completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Chicago. Beyond his clinical training, Dr. Oldham has obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Health Science at the University of Chicago and PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Michigan. He is funded by the NHLBI to study biomarkers of clinically relevant endpoints in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other forms of fibrosing interstitial lung disease. His lab specializes in the application of machine learning algorithms to high-throughput -omic data to develop multi-dimensional biomarkers that predict progression, survival and treatment response in this population.
