Biography

Dr Rakel is professor, department of family and community medicine, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. He is the past chairman of the National Heartburn Alliance, and has held numerous leadership positions for the American Board of Family Practice, the American Board of Medical Specialties, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the Council of Academic Societies and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
