Biography

Tricia Santos Cavaiola, MD, completed an endocrinology fellowship, chief residency, and residency in internal medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism with a special interest in both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and in helping patients learn how to take a more active role in managing the disease through lifestyle changes and medication choices. Her research focus is also in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Santos Cavaiola teaches courses in endocrinology and teaches residents and fellows in the clinical setting.
