Biography

Dr. Vibha Singhal is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UCLA and Director of Pediatric Obesity in the Department of Pediatrics. Board-certified in Pediatric Endocrinology and Obesity Medicine, she specializes in comprehensive, evidence-based pediatric obesity management, including lifestyle treatment, pharmacotherapy, and metabolic and bariatric surgery. She received her medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, completed residency at Mayo Clinic and endocrinology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. She holds an MPH from Harvard School of Public Health and has co-authored more than 80 original research articles. Through UCLA’s FIT for Health clinic, she focuses on individualized obesity care, including treatment of severe obesity and obesity in children with developmental disabilities, particularly Down syndrome. Her research, including previous NIH-funded work, focuses on personalized obesity treatments, metabolic outcomes, and the intergenerational effects of obesity and its treatments on maternal and offspring health.
