Biography

Eric G. Tangalos, MD is professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic and was chair of primary care internal medicine from 1997 to 2006. He is a past-president of the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA) and is a fellow and past governor of the American College of Physicians. He is a director for the American Geriatrics Foundation for Health in Aging. He served eight years on the national board of the Alzheimer's Association and has had continuous NIH funding for his work at the Mayo Alzheimer's Disease Center since 1986. He is an AMA delegate, and holds committee positions with the National Council for Quality Assurance and the National Quality Forum. Dr. Tangalos lectures extensively and has over 200 publications to his credit.
