Biography

Mr Urquhart is a graduate of the George Washington University Physician Assistant Program. He has been practicing endocrinology since 1996 at Diabetes and Thyroid Associates in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He is a founding member and Past President of the American Society of Endocrine Physician Assistants. Mr Urquhart is an Adjunct Clinical Professor for James Madison University’s Physician Assistant Program and a Clinical Instructor for George Washington University’s Physician Assistant Program. In 2008, he received the award of Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He has extensive experience in educational development and as a presenter of many endocrine topics at the state and national levels. His many publications have appeared in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Advance for PAs, and Clinician Reviews. In addition, Mr Urquhart serves on the editorial board for Clinician Reviews. In 2010, he developed the United States’ first-ever endocrine summit designed for physician assistants/nurse practitioners, called the Metabolic & Endocrine Disease Summit (MEDS), launching it in 2011.
