Biography

Dr. David A. Vermylen is a full-time practicing internist at Michigan Avenue Internists, a Northwestern-affiliated private practice in downtown Chicago. In addition to providing primary care for adult patients of all ages, he devotes six weeks a year to attending on the Northwestern Medicine and Jesse Brown VA Hospital teaching services. He also works directly with 1st and 2nd-year medical students, training them in physical exam skills, communication skills, and the management of difficult conversations. He received his medical degree from Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine, subsequently completing his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Northwestern. Chicago is his home, and his favorite hobby is spending time in the city with his wife (who is also a full-time physician) and their two young children.
