Biography

Dr. Ping H. Wang is Professor of Medicine and Director of the UC Irvine Diabetes Center. He also serves as Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at UC Irvine Medical Center. Dr. Wang received his MD degree from Taiwan and master degree from Harvard School of Public Health. After completing his residency training, Dr. Wang received endocrinology fellowship training at the Harvard Medical School and the Joslin Diabetes Center. He frequently lectures on the basic science and clinical issues of diabetes in the US and abroad. His research is focused on the mechanisms of diabetes and its related metabolic disorders; he has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, American Diabetes Association, and American Heart Association. Dr. Wang has served as member of the study section for the National Institutes of Health, and serves on the editorial board and expert review panels for leading medical and scientific journals. He has been selected as one of the America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly, and Best Doctors in America by BestDoctors.
