Biography
Dr. Wright holds a BSE degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and an MD degree from Duke University. He completed his internship and residency at Duke University Health System and returned to the clinical faculty in 1996, following 15 years of private practice. In 2000, he was recruited to become the Medical Director of Primary Care and Specialty Practices of the Cape Fear Valley Health System and served as the Chief Medical Officer between 2011 and 2013. He is actively involved with the American Diabetes Association, where he has served as the inaugural chair of the Primary Care Interest Group, a member of the Know Diabetes by Heart Advisory Group, and on the Planning Committee of the ADA Clinical Conference. He also serves as a content reviewer for Up To Date, as an Associate Editor for Clinical Diabetes, and on the editorial board for Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics.
