Biography

Dr. Zangwill received his M.D. from Pennsylvania State University, completed residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and served in the Epidemic Intelligence Service at CDC followed by ID fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He is Chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Harbor. Dr. Zangwill is active on the inpatient general pediatrics and infectious disease services. His research focuses on clinical epidemiology and practice, phase II-V vaccine evaluation, antimicrobial stewardship, and economic analyses related to several clinical topics. He is/was a member of the AHRQ study section on Healthcare Effectiveness and Outcomes Research and an ad hoc reviewer for several journals. He is currently serves on the Executive Committee of the AAP Section on Infectious Diseases and Chairs its Subcommittee on Education. In 2018 he will be Chair of the SOID. His clinical activities have thrice earned him the Outstanding Pediatric Faculty Teacher Award at his institution.
