Overview
Sexual function is an important aspect of a full, healthy and happy quality of life. Evidence tells us that female sexual dysfunction (FSD) is common, notably in older women. Estimates of prevalence of FSD are reported to be between 40% to 70% in perimenopausal and menopausal women. Also noted is that a large percentage of clinicians fail to ask about this aspect of health due to many obstacles such as visit time limits and discomfort asking about this sensitive information. Join us as we discuss the recent research about prevalence of FSD, causes of FSD and strategies for obtaining meaningful and sensitive histories, and evidenced based therapies to improve quality of life.
