The session "Screen. Assess. Act. A Primary Care Approach to Alcohol Use Disorder" (1 hour) is designed to satisfy state licensure requirements for topics including risk management (MA and CT), and substance abuse disorder (MA, CT, RI).

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss alcohol use disorder (AUD) as a chronic, relapsing neurobiological condition spanning a spectrum of severity and multisystem consequences
  • Apply validated screening tools to identify unhealthy alcohol use, including targeted screening in patients presenting with alcohol-related comorbidities
  • Implement evidence-based brief interventions for unhealthy alcohol use within a patient-centered, team-based care model
