Overview

The microbiome has been referred to as the second human genome, the inner bacterial rain forest and a newly discovered organ. There are many things that shape the gut microbiome including: the way we are born, whether we received antibiotics early in life, whether we travel, and whether we drink coffee, eat kimchi, and many more factors. The composition of the gut microbiome dictates an array of health benefits as well as multiple medical disorders.
