Description
This session will equip primary care providers with essential strategies to promote brain health, delay or prevent mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and integrate cognitive screening into routine practice. Expert faculty will discuss risk factor modification and effective patient communication to support early detection and intervention for cognitive decline.
The session "Brain Check: Promoting Brain Health and Detecting Cognitive Impairment" (1.0 hour) is designed to satisfy state licensure requirements (MD/DO/PA/NP) on Geriatrics and Dementia in California
Learning Objectives
- Employ risk factor modification and other strategies to promote brain health and delay or prevent the onset of mild cognitive impairment (MCI)
- Discuss brain health and cognitive decline with patients as part of routine primary care practice
- Perform appropriate screening for cognitive impairment
