Sandra A. Carson

Biography

Dr. Sandra A. Carson is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medical Director of Baylor Assisted Reproductive Technology. Dr. Carson earned her medical degree in 1977 and completed her residency in 1981 at Northwestern University Medical School. After a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Chicago/Michael Reese Medical Center in 1983, she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1984 and earned the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility certification in 1985. She is the Past President of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and organized its sexual function special interest group. She is involved in leading-edge research in the area of spontaneous abortion, ectopic pregnancy, DHEA metabolism with aging, and Assisted Reproductive Technology. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Heath since 1988.
