Biography

Dr. Catic’s focus is in geriatric education with a strong secondary emphasis in geriatric clinical care, including expertise in cognitive concerns and age-friendly systems of care. Her educational roles are prominent not only within Baylor College of Medicine but regionally and nationally. These include 1. GME educational leadership (directing the Baylor College of Medicine geriatric fellowship and serving as the Medical Director and Educational Consultant for the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center Physician Assistant Geriatric Residency Program), 2. CME (Co-director of the annual Baylor College of Medicine geriatric CME course for primary care providers and hospitalists), 3. Educational grants (Co-PI for the Southeast Texas Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program), and 4. Educational leadership roles in geriatrics nationally (directing the educational swap sessions at the annual American Geriatrics Society meeting and co-leading GME educational efforts nationally for Patient Priorities Care). In Dr. Catic’s clinical role at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, she directs the geriatric outpatient clinic, directs the geriatric cognitive clinic, and co-directs the inpatient Complex Care Consultation service.
