Hisham Dokainish

Biography

Dr. Dokainish was born and educated in Ontario, Canada, and came to Baylor College of Medicine in 2002 to pursue an academic career in Cardiology and Echocardiography. He is currently Director of Echocardiography at Baylor College of Medicine, and serves as Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology and Director of the Coronary Care Unit at Ben Taub General Hospital, a major teaching hospital affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine. His interests include the role of new echocardiographic imaging modalities in characterizing cardiac function, and for the determination of patient prognosis in heart failure. Dr. Dokainish is very involved in teaching residents and fellows at Baylor College of Medicine, and has published over 25 original, peer-reviewed scientific papers in cardiac and general medical journals.
