Biography

Dr Freeman earned his medical degree at the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He served an internship at the Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Stratford Division; he completed a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the UMDNJ/Veterans Hospital in East Orange N.J. Dr Freeman is a board member of the Philadelphia Endocrine Society. A previous board member and Affiliate president of the Pennsylvania division of the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Previous regional president elect of the American Diabetes Association. Founding board member of the Northeast Lipid Association and the DO fellow in lipidology in the Northeast Lipid Association. In 2009 he was co-recipient for an award from the American Osteopathic Association for Excellence in Diabetes. For the past 19 years, he has been Chairman of the Division of Metabolic Diseases for the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. He developed high-level educational programs at the local and national level to address issues in therapeutic diabetes and other endocrine disorders for primary care providers.
