Biography

Jeffrey Rado is board certified in both internal medicine and psychiatry and has over 10 years' experience integrating psychiatry and internal medicine in primary care settings. In this context, he has provided real-time psychiatric consultation to internal medicine providers and residents. He has extensive teaching and mentoring experience and has designed and implemented a collaborative care program at Northwestern to provide comprehensive depression treatment within a primary care setting. Dr. Rado has also taught psychiatric skills to primary care providers in APA-sponsored programs across the country and has served as lead faculty on an Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) course training community-based providers to deliver state-of-the-art psychiatric care in underserved communities. He is the past President of the Association of Medicine and Psychiatry, a national organization whose goal is to support teaching, research and clinical practice at the interface of medicine and psychiatry. He is passionate about holistic care, enjoys building lasting connections and understanding and addressing barriers to quality psychiatric and medical care.
