Dr. Gaurava Agarwal is a board-certified psychiatrist with a special interest in bipolar disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia, addiction, positive psychiatry, healthcare professional well-being, and occupational psychiatry. Currently, he is an assistant professor in both the Departments of Medical Education and Psychiatry at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He serves as the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in Psychiatry for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He also serves as the Director of Graduate Medical Education Wellness Programming for the McGaw Medical Center. He is the Associate Medical Director for the Positive Sobriety Institute’s RiverMend Health Chicago which specializes in the comprehensive forensic evaluation of healthcare professionals. He has been selected as an Advisory Council member for the APA Foundation’s Center for Workplace Mental Health which is a national strategic body of experts that collaborates with employers to advance effective approaches to workplace mental health. Dr. Agarwal is a nationally recognized educator who has won the prestigious Association for Academic Psychiatry’s Junior Faculty Award, the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry’s Devneil Vaidya Junior Faculty Teaching Award, and the George H. Joost Award for outstanding clinical teacher from Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
