Esther M. Benedetti

Biography

Dr. Benedetti obtained her MD degree at the Escuela de Medicina Jose Maria Vargas (Universidad Central de Venezuela) and her anesthesiology residency training at the Hospital Domingo Luciani (UCV - Caracas, Venezuela). She then pursued fellowship training in Pain Medicine at the Centro Medico Docente a Trinidad in Venezuela. In 2003, she acquired her Interventional Pain Management fellowship training at the University of Vermont at the Fletcher Allen Health Care System in Burlington. She returned to Venezuela where she worked as a chronic pain specialist. In the year 2007, she became faculty in the Department of Anesthesia at University of Iowa where she remained as staff for almost a decade reaching the rank of Associate Clinical Professor. She obtained her certification as a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice by the World Institute of Pain. In 2015, she joined the Miami VA Healthcare System where she now serves as the Chronic Pain Medicine, Section Chief.
