Biography

Dr. Lucile Burgo-Black is an internist and has devoted her career to providing primary healthcare to Veterans and training residents and medical students as assistant clinical professor at Yale University School of Medicine. She is a graduate of Brown University and the University of Lausanne Medical School and trained in internal medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael, an affiliate of Yale University. She is the National Co-Director of the Post Deployment Integrated Care Initiative and Associate Primary Care Director at VA Connecticut Healthcare and has an active out-patient hospital based teaching practice. In addition to supporting initiatives to provide the best care to all Veterans she is actively involved in the implementation and teaching of smoking cessation policy and strategies, the integration of mental health services in primary care, advancing clinical informatics and social networking tools in VA and translating evidence based strategies into clinical practice.
