Biography

Dr. Dima Dandachi is an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and the Medical Director of the HIV treatment and prevention program at the University of Missouri Health Care. She also serves as the Medical Director of Columbia/Boone County Public Health & Human Services, Co-director of the Scientific Working Group (SWG) – Developmental Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) program, and the Lead Facilitator of HIV ECHO – of Missouri Telehealth Network. Experience: Dr. Dandachi is a clinician-researcher. Her clinical practice and research are focused on HIV prevention and treatment. Dr. Dandachi has also conducted numerous research projects, and her work has been published in leading scientific journals. She was the lead PI on a multicenter international study about people with HIV who have been infected with COVID-19. Her professional memberships include the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Global Health Committee Advisory Group, the HIV Medical Association (HIVMA), and the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine. She is a fellow of IDSA (FIDSA), a designation that recognizes individuals who have achieved professional excellence and provided significant service to the profession. Education: Dr. Dandachi earned her medical degree at Beirut Arab University in 2007. She received her master’s in public health at the University of Texas-Houston and completed her fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
