Biography

Dr Deer has been actively involved in the field of Interventional Pain Medicine, for almost 20 years, as a clinician, educator, and researcher. During this time, he has had the opportunity to treat thousands of patients in his clinical practice and educate hundreds of physicians in the field both as a mentor and as clinical professor. He has held a number of national and international society positions including his current roles as the President of the International Neuromodulation Society (INS), President of West Virginia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Anesthesiologist Past Chairman of Committee of Pain Medicine and a Member of the West Virginia Controlled Substance Monitoring Program. Dr Deer has participated in a number of pivotal research projects as both primary investigator and study designer as well as published the results of those studies in many specialty journals.
