Biography
Dr. Michael Hornbecker is the US Early Detection Fellowship Lead for the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative (DAC) Healthcare System Preparedness Program, which aims to catalyze global healthcare system transformation that allows Alzheimer’s patients quicker access to life-changing innovations. Leveraging his medical expertise and primary care background, Dr. Hornbecker leads the US Early Detection Fellowship at DAC-SP which focuses on improving rates of early detection in primary care settings through implementation of DAC’s Early Detection Blueprint. Prior to joining DAC-SP, Dr. Hornbecker spent 13 years as a primary care physician in the Indianapolis metropolitan area where he championed the initiation of annual cognitive screening for patients in his health system as part of the Medicare wellness exam. Dr. Hornbecker earned his medical degree for the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal medicine at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hornbecker is personally and professionally driven to find sustainable solutions for Alzheimer’s care to improve the lives of patients and their families.
