Biography

Anne Jacobson, MD, MPH is a family physician, author, editor, and consultant in Chicago, Illinois. She received her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, Master’s in Public Health from the University of Illinois, trained in family medicine at West Suburban Family Medicine Residency, and completed a fellowship in Community Medicine at PCC Community Wellness in Oak Park, Illinois. After many years as a clinician and administrator in safety-net health systems in Chicago, she now works as a researcher and writer about physician wellness and burnout, is an editor in medical humanities and narrative medicine, and a consultant in public health. She is Affiliate Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. In 2020 she completed the Harvard Medical School Media and Medicine program and is now writing a book about the physician experience based on qualitative research that originated from that work.
