Biography

The leader of a 26-doctor primary-care group in Santa Cruz, Dr. Keet is also Medical Director of Axolotl, a computer software company based in Tampa, FL. He prescribes electronically himself, and has spearheaded the efforts of his group to automate clinical data and go online with other healthcare providers in the area. A practicing internist and geriatrician, Dr. Keet founded Physicians Medical Group of Santa Cruz in 1984, and founded Physicians Services of Santa Cruz, a physician-hospital MSO, in 1987. From 1995 to 1996, he was Medical Director of the Catholic HealthCare West Medical Foundation, Santa Cruz Division. Dr. Keet has written several articles on information technology and presents regularly at healthcare forums. He has spoken at meetings of MGMA, the IPA Association of California, TEPR, and HIMSS on subjects ranging from physician organizations and team building to clinical messaging and Web-based clinical automation.
