Mark R. Laufer

Biography

Dr. Laufer is the Chief of Gynecology at Children's Hospital, Boston, a reproductive endocrinologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and an Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. He is also the co-director of the Center for Young Women's Health [www.youngwomenshealth.org]. Dr. Laufer was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and University Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania where he received his B.A. and M.D. degrees. He has been the president of the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and the Chair of the American College of Obstetrians and Gynecologists' Committee on Adolescent Health. Dr. Laufer is an advisor to the International Endometriosis Association. Dr. Laufer has been honored as one of Castle Connolly Medical Ltd's "America's Top Doctors" for the 2005, 5th edition. He has lectured internationally, conducted research and published extensively, and is a co-author of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, 4th Edition [1998], and 5th Edition [2005]. Dr. Laufer's practice has an emphasis in pediatric and adolescent gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, endometriosis, reconstructive surgery for congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract, and gynecologic surgery.
