Biography
Dr. Angela Leung is Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. She received her M.D. from the Boston University School of Medicine and her M.Sc. in epidemiology from the Boston University School of Public Health. Her clinical interests are in thyroid dysfunction, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer. Her research is funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development studying iodine nutrition and thyroid disease during pregnancy and lactation. She has published over 50 articles, reviews, book chapters, and editorials regarding iodine nutrition, thyroid disease, and environmental thyroid disruptors. She serves as current chair of the Public Health Committee of the American Thyroid Association and is on the editorial board of Endocrine Practice, Clinical Thyroidology, and the Journal of Clinical and Translational Endocrinology.
