Biography

Zhaoping Li, MD, PhD, is the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Endowed Chair in Human Nutrition and Professor and Chief of the Division of Clinical Nutrition at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Her research integrates basic, translational, and clinical nutrition science, with a focus on obesity, metabolism, cancer, and age-related chronic diseases. She has served as Principal Investigator for more than 100 NIH-funded, investigator-initiated, and industry-sponsored clinical trials and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers. As Chief of the Division of Clinical Nutrition, she oversees one of the nation’s largest multidisciplinary clinical nutrition programs, bringing together physicians, registered dietitians, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologists, and clinical fellows to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. Through this collaborative model, UCLA has emerged as a national leader in Food Forward Healthcare, recognizing food as a powerful tool for preventing, managing, and treating chronic disease.
