Biography

Dr. Sanghamitra Misra is an integrative pediatrician with a passion for serving vulnerable populations. She is professor of pediatrics and course director of the pediatric core clerkship at Baylor College of Medicine. She is the medical director of the Texas Children’s Mobile Clinic Program which brings comprehensive healthcare to under-resourced children in the Houston area. She is also the director of the Integrative Medicine Program at Texas Children’s Hospital which focuses on research and education on complementary and integrative therapies in pediatrics. Dr. Misra is a published author of research articles, book chapters, and a book on topics including immunizations, refugee health, mobile clinics, medical education, and integrative medicine. Dr. Misra is the immediate past chair of the board of directors of a grassroots advocacy organization known as Doctors for Change and current Board member of Undies for Everyone, Inc. She is an elected board member of the national Mobile Healthcare Association and chair of the executive committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Integrative Medicine. Dr. Misra is a section editor of UpToDate, an electronic clinical resource tool for physicians and patients.
