Biography

Cheryl O’Malley is dedicated to implementing quality and patient safety in hospital settings and has extensive experience as a mentor in both local and national projects. Dr. O'Malley is the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director at the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center/Phoenix VA Medical Center program in Phoenix, Arizona where she cares for patients in the inpatient setting, teaches patient safety and mentors residents and faculty to lead hospital and clinic-based QI projects. For the last 8 years, the residency program has been part of the Internal Medicine Residency Review Committee's Educational Innovations Project and was selected because of the commitment to align the goals of graduate medical education with those of the hospital and patients. She has also held elected and appointed national positions with the Society of Hospital Medicine and Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine, and American College of Physician (ACP) including contributor to the High Value Cost Conscious Care curriculum.
