Biography

Dr. Slusser is Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at University of California, Los Angeles, Director of the UCLA Breastfeeding Resource Program and Co-director of the Community Health and Advocacy Pediatric Residency Training Program. Dr. Slusser joined the UCLA faculty in 1995 after spending 5 years working on maternal and child health programs with Save the Children Federation and Wellstart International. She primarily worked in Malawi, Zimbabwe, El Salvador, Mexico, Bangladesh, and Bolivia. Her work focuses on general pediatrics and maternal, infant and child nutrition and her research currently is focused on prevention of overweight in children.
