This session on influenza diagnosis and management will improve how you respond when annual fluctuations in vaccine efficacy expose your patients to risk of serious illness. Through interactive patient cases, the faculty will demonstrate how to identify and treat patients with suspected influenza, including patients at high risk for complications. These practical, evidence-based strategies will help you to use antiviral medications effectively and reduce the burden of influenza.


This short curriculum cuts to the heart of primary and secondary cardiovascular disease prevention in people with type 2 diabetes. The “patient” is a 52-year-old who is following up with you for their type 2 diabetes, with a history of obesity, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and coronary artery disease. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is at the forefront of new diabetes technologies and can lead to improved care for many people, but the expanding market challenges primary care clinicians to keep up with guidelines on how and when to use personal and professional CGM devices. This curriculum, developed in partnership with the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES), will educate clinicians on how to identify people who are candidates for CGM, interpret CGM data, and adjust treatment plans, while effectively involving patients in these decisions. These practical strategies and insights for using CGM will help transform this new technology from a specialty-based tool to an integral part of diabetes management in the primary care setting. You can earn up to 1.5 CME/CE credits in total by completing all 3 of the modules in this curriculum. Two podcasts are also included that are designed to share with patients who want to know more about CGM; they do not qualify for CME/CE credit. Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) is a chronic and debilitating inflammatory disease primarily affecting the spine and sacroiliac joints. In the United States alone, it is estimated to take 14 years to receive appropriate diagnosis as it's hallmark symptom, inflammatory back pain, can go unnoticed or be misdiagnosed. Due to the challenges in recognizing axSpA, patients are often referred to various healthcare providers in the journey to diagnosis. There is a significant need to increase the proper diagnosis of axSpA among healthcare professionals, especially those that are seeing patients experiencing back pain. Early identification and timely referral to rheumatologists can help mitigate the progressive structural damage and significant patient burden in axSpA patients.
