Coughing Beyond the Norm: Empowering PCPs to Recognize and Work-up Refractory Chronic CoughIndustry Webcast Sponsored by GSK; Not for CME/CE Credit

Refractory chronic cough (RCC) is disease identified in a subset of people who experience chronic cough (cough lasting more than 8 weeks) despite adequate treatment for known cough related etiologies. It can cause significant burden for patients and may be associated with neuronal hypersensitivity. This program emphasizes the essential role of primary care providers in the timely recognition of RCC, offering practical guidance on evaluating patients to rule out other causes, deciding when and to which specialists referrals should be made, interpreting feedback from specialists to optimize patient care and diagnosis. Utilizing polling questions and interactive discussion with pulmonology and internal medicine physicians, the program is designed to enhance care strategies to improve outcomes for RCC patients.
