The session titled "Top Questions in HIV, PTSD, Social Media Advertising" (1.50 hours) is designed to satisfy CME/CE requirements on the topic of HIV/AIDS.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss indications and recommendations for initiating patients on pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and summarize current pharmacologic treatments available for those living with HIV
- Apply current guidelines to safely initiate, monitor, and adjust PrEP and HIV treatment regimens in primary care
- Discuss how to assess and diagnose post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Summarize pharmacological treatments and psychotherapeutic approaches for managing PTSD
- Understand the scope of health-adjacent advertising through social media, discuss the evidence related to some common claims and topics patients may see through social media, and identify reputable, valuable sources to share with patients to ensure quality information
