Overview

This is an interactive, skills-based session designed to increase primary care providers' understanding and comfortability in performing both a screening and focus neurologic examination. Following a brief didactic overview, participants will rotate through small-group station led by neurology faculty, with demonstrations and hands-on practice of core neurologic exam techniques for common neurologic complaints.

  • Perform an efficient screening neurologic examination appropriate use in primary care settings
  • Apply focused, symptom-driven neurologic exam maneuvers for common complaints including dizziness, numbness and tingling, and headache
  • Identify key neurologic examination findings that indicate the need for urgent evaluation or referral to neurology
