Overview

Many of our older adult patients are not prepared for the health crises that happen when they enter their 4th quarter of life. Instead, family members have to scramble to find services to support them at home or find senior living facilities to support their needs. The ensuing conversations are wrought with family conflict, which primary care clinicians are frequently pulled into. Learn how to address advance care planning issues, understand tactics to resolve geriatric conflicts, and navigate end-of-life care. Dr. Lindquist will walk through practical solutions to your questions about older adult patient care.

The session titled "Embracing the Journey: End-of-Life Care Planning and Palliative Care" (1.0 hour) is designed to satisfy CME/CE (MD/DO/PA/NP) requirements on the topic of Geriatrics
