Biography

Dr. Brennan has been in practice of pain and rehabilitation medicine for 35 years. His experience is in both cancer and non-cancer related pain and related disabilities. His experience includes working with in-patient consultation as well as outpatient management of chronic pain. He was associate director of the Chronic Pain and Recovery Center at the Silver Hill Hospital, managing patients with dual diagnoses of chronic pain and substance use disorder. He has published numerous papers relevant to the practice of pain medicine, including assessment, REMS, the impact of metabolism of opioids and the potential clinical implication in practice, and long-term effects of opioid therapy particularly on the endocrine system. Dr. Brennan has contributed to many guideline and practice guideline committees. He lives with his wife Elizabeth Brennan, MD in Fairfield, CT.
