Biography
Lorena Alarcon-Casas Wright, M.D. pronouns she/her/ella, is a board-certified adult endocrinologist and a Professor of Clinical Practice at the UW School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition. Dr. Wright earned her M.D. degree at the University of Veracruz in Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. She completed her Internal Medicine residency in Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, affiliated to USC and her clinical and research endocrinology fellowship at the UW. Her clinical and research interests focus on diabetes care particularly diabetes in ethnic minorities. Dr. Wright is also passionate about delivering gender affirming care to gender diverse individuals and is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. Dr. Wright has authored manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and online courses and is active teaching and mentoring trainees.
