Biography
Dr. Laura Chamorro Dauer is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Pediatrics Hospitalist Medicine Section. She is double board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine. A proud triple Hurricane, she completed her undergraduate studies, medical school, and residency at the University of Miami. After residency, she served as chief resident at Holtz Children’s Hospital, where she focused on shaping graduate medical education and providing support for residents. Dr. Chamorro has a strong passion for undergraduate medical education. She has been a course director for the “Art of Medicine” course and previously served as the Director of Student Services and Wellness. In these roles, she has focused on medical student professional identity formation, coaching, and career development. Clinically, her work centers on the inpatient care of complex pediatric patients, adolescents, and newborns. Her research interests include communication—particularly transitions of care—and the standardization of asthma management.
