Biography
I am a tenured Professor of Pediatrics and the Chief of Research for Pediatric Emergency Medicine. I completed my undergraduate degree at Harvard, my medical degree at Vanderbilt, and my pediatrics residency and fellowships in pediatric emergency medicine and infectious diseases at Baylor. I received my MPH in epidemiology and global health at the University of Texas. I am the deputy editor of Pediatrics, the site PI for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Applied Research Network, and the chair emeritus of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Collaborative Research Committee. I am the director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Childhood Tuberculosis Clinic. I have over 200 publications, focused predominantly on childhood TB, sepsis, and the evaluation and management of children with infectious diseases in the emergency department.
