Endocrinologist, Endocrinology Associates of Southwest Dallas DeSoto, Texas Saleemah Y. Fahmi, MD, is a solo-practicing endocrinologist at Endocrinology Associates of Southwest Dallas in DeSoto, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida and her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Fahmi completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. During her fellowship, her focus of research was lipid metabolism in the department of molecular genetics at University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Fahmi has authored or co-authored articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as Human Molecular Genetics, Clinical Diabetes, and the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology. She has a special interest in the treatment of childhood obesity, the detection of early diabetes, and the prevention of diabetes in at-risk youth and young adults. Dr. Fahmi currently treats a wide range of metabolic diseases. She uses a patient-centered approach and focuses on the patient as a whole while offering the most up-to-date therapeutic options.
