  • Recognize obesity as a serious chronic illness that requires sustained weight management to mitigate adiposity-related complications and comorbidities
  • Use appropriate, non-judgmental language when discussing obesity with patients
  • Apply motivational interviewing techniques in the clinical setting to improve clinicians’ and patients’ comfort in discussions about obesity while eliciting information about patient’s weight loss goals, motivations, and state of change
  • Employ therapeutic communication strategies to develop patient-centered treatment plans for people with obesity
  • Use a holistic, evidence-based approach to obesity management to formulate individualized treatment plans that support sustainable weight management
  • Discuss the efficacy, safety, and best prescribing practices for long-term anti-obesity medication (AOM).

Claim Credits

Please follow these instructions for evaluating and claiming continuing education credit for sessions you attend at this Pri-Med meeting:

  1. Scan Your Badge.

    Be sure to scan your badge once each day near the session room entrances to activate your identification for your credit award.

  2. Go to www.pri-med.com/midwest/eval

    Access the online credit system to complete the evaluation and credit request process by Wednesday, October 14. Computers will not be available onsite. Pri-Med staff can assist you with the process on your mobile device if you have questions.

    • Enter your badge number and email address for identification.
    • Select the day for the sessions you attended.
    • On the session screen, identify and evaluate the sessions that you attended.
    • Confirm total credit award for each session and attest to correct total. Designate the type of credit you seek.
  3. Recieve your credit.

    View and print your certificate right from the evaluation web site. Your certificate will also be posted to your Pri-Med.com account the next day.
