Bridging the Gap: Addressing Health Disparities in Dermatologic Conditions
Description
Join a primary care physician in discussing common skin conditions in patients with skin of color. This 60-minute activity will help primary care clinicians recognize common dermatologic presentations in skin of color and address health care disparities in primary care.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss disparities among communities of color for common dermatologic disorders and statistics regarding access/referrals for dermatologic care
- Recognize presentations that are unique to people of color for psoriasis and other common dermatologic conditions
- Identify strategies to incorporate patient-centered, culturally sensitive care into primary care practice
