Thyroid Tests Demystified: Interpreting TSH, T4, and Beyond

Thyroid disorders affect approximately 20 million people in the United States, representing about 12% of the population, and play a significant role in primary care. This session will break down thyroid function testing, covering the roles of TSH, Free T4, Free T3, and other key thyroid markers, to help you interpret results with confidence. You’ll learn to recognize lab patterns indicative of conditions such as hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism and to apply a structured approach to ordering and interpreting these tests. Armed with these insights, you’ll be able to make informed decisions that guide effective treatment and ongoing management of thyroid health in your patients.
